At least 120 people died in a plane crash at Muan Airport in South Korea, the local fire brigade said, while two survivors have been brought to hospital, according to a report.
A total of 181 people were on board the aircraft. The fire brigade fears that, apart from the two survivors, the remaining 179 passengers and crew members are dead.
The survivors were a passenger and a flight attendant, Yonhap news agency reported, citing the authorities. The report said one of the two discovered smoke coming from one of the engines.
Several eyewitnesses on the ground also reported seeing flames coming from one of the turbines and hearing several loud bangs, Yonhap reported.
Based on initial findings, the authorities assume that the pilots were unable to extend the landing gear due to a bird strike which caused the accident.
