MANILA, Philippines — Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson on Thursday formalized his withdrawal from the Senate race in the upcoming midterm polls following a bout with pneumonia.
Singson, 83, personally filed his statement of withdrawal at the Comelec office in Intramuro, Manila, after telling his followers Sunday that he was dropping out.
