MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has impeached Vice President Sara Duterte on the last day of session on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Sources from inside the House of Representatives told The Manila Times that 153 congressmen signed the impeachment complaint against Duterte. They said it will be formalized in the plenary on Wednesday.
Under the law, only 101 lawmakers are needed for the House to endorse the complaint to the Senate, where she will be tried.
Duterte is facing three impeachment complaints over misuse of public funds, culpable violation of the constitution, and betrayal of public trust.
