MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Ronald dela Rosa said he would seek protection from the Senate to avoid possible arrest by the International Criminal Court (ICC), a day after former president Rodrigo Duterte was arrested for alleged crimes against humanity linked to his war on illegal drugs during his term.
Dela Rosa was Duterte’s Philippine National Police chief and known enforcer of his anti-narcotics campaign, which he called “Operation Tokhang.”
