MADISON (WXOW) — In Tuesday’s update, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services provided figures that said another 21,000 people are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Numbers from DHS show 2,350,330 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 40.4 percent of state residents according to DHS. The figures show that 1,635,592 people, or 28.1 percent of the state’s population, are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 113,240 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 41.2 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 81,078, or 29.5 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 55,143 people or 46.7 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 37,028 people in La Crosse County or 31.4 percent completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population completing the series of COVID vaccinations: Monroe: 23.5 percent, Vernon: 28.7 percent, Trempealeau: 32.4 percent, and Jackson: 26.5 percent.

On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services said there were eight additional COVID-19 deaths in the state.
The total number of deaths in the state from the virus is now at 6,718.

DHS also reported 100 people were newly hospitalized.
There have been 805 positive COVID-19 tests since yesterday in Wisconsin and 3,510 negative results.

Of all positive cases reported since the pandemic began, 575,702, or 97.3 percent, are considered recovered.
