MANILA, Philippines – With no low pressure area spotted even outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the country could expect a generally-fair weather all throughout the day.
Weather specialist Daniel James Villamil of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the easterlies – winds passing through the Pacific Ocean and carrying humid, warm weather – have been affecting the eastern section of the archipelago.
In particular, the weather system is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, the Pagasa forecaster said.
He warned that flash floods or landslides due to moderate to sometimes heavy rains would be possible in these areas.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Caraga, and Davao Region would likely have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the easterlies.
Also, the rest of Mindanao would be experiencing similar weather pattern caused by the localized thunderstorms, the national weather bureau said.
