MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism and The Manila Times signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the Asean Tourism Forum 2026 in Makati on Wednesday.
The Asean Tourism Forum, or ATF, is the region’s biggest annual tourism gathering, bringing together ministers, national tourism organizations, industry leaders, and travel stakeholders from the 10 Asean member-states. The Philippines is set to host the 2026 edition.
The Manila Times President and COO Blanca C. Mercado said the partnership underscored a shared goal of promoting the Philippines as a vibrant, world-class destination, adding that the paper will provide credible, nationwide coverage as the country prepares to welcome ATF 2026.

She said the collaboration highlights the role of information in inspiring travel, supporting communities, and strengthening the tourism sector.
Mercado said The Manila Times would work closely with the DOT to deliver meaningful and consistent coverage leading up to and during the regional event.
She added that the partnership also aimed to elevate stories that showcased destinations, as well as the people, culture, and spirit that define the Philippines.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco thanked The Manila Times for its support, noting that the partnership will help boost public awareness and engagement ahead of ATF 2026.
