MADISON (WXOW) — In Tuesday’s update, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services said nearly 18,000 more state residents are done with the COVID-19 vaccination process.
Numbers from DHS show 2,190,652 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 37.6 percent of state residents according to DHS. The figures show that 1,441,345 people, or 24.8 percent of the state’s population, are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 107,700 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 39.2 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 72,804, or 26.5 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 52,090 people or 44.1 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 33,270 people in La Crosse County or 28.2 percent completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population receiving the first dose of a COVID vaccine: Monroe: 30.3 percent, Vernon: 36.4 percent, Trempealeau: 41.7 percent, and Jackson: 32.4 percent.

According to numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Tuesday, there were ten additional deaths from the virus.
The total number of deaths in the state from the virus is now at 6,690.

DHS also reported 70 people were newly hospitalized.
As of Monday, 304 COVID-19 patients were being treated in Wisconsin hospitals. It is an increase of 16 from the previous day.
Of those, 75 people are in the ICU according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, or three more than yesterday.
There have been 922 positive COVID-19 tests since yesterday in Wisconsin and 2,963 negative results.

Of all positive cases reported since the pandemic began, 571,082, or 97.4 percent, are considered recovered.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that six people are hospitalized in the Western Region of the state, which is comprised of Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, and Crawford counties. One patient is currently in intensive care.
