I’m procrastinating a Historic Preservation paper and was looking for interior views of old homes in the area of my subject (Georgetown, Sanford, FL). It’s an up-and-coming area with deep historical roots but emphasis on “coming,” as in not there yet.I found this map and almost choked at seeing any home in that area approaching anywhere near $1M, let alone three! Looking at the pictures, it’s extraordinarily unremarkable. 802-Orange-Ave.png
Figuring it was just an input error, I headed over to the Property Appraiser’s website. PA-Website.png
There is a Special Warranty Deed filed around its selling date for $3,339,800. It’s possible the PA made a mistake too, but it’s a pretty obvious discrepancy so it seems like someone would have cared to fix it?
I am curious about this but don’t know anything about real estate as my background is in History. So what am I missing here? Did some poor sucker actually pay several million dollars for this property? Is there a gold mine underneath? Or is it a transposition issue?
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!
