A total of 487 Indian nationals in the United States are currently facing final removal orders, according to Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri. These individuals are at risk of being deported back to India, a situation that has sparked renewed concerns over the treatment of illegal migrants upon their return.
Misri noted that the Central government will continue to address the issue of mistreatment faced by deported citizens, underscoring the importance of ensuring their dignity and safety throughout the deportation process.
“We flag issues of mistreatment of illegal migrants deported to India, will continue to do so in future,” he said.
