ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Maharaja Foods will amalgamate its wholly owned subsidiaries Maharaja Marketing (Private) Limited and Maharaja Supermarket (Private) Limited from September, it said in a stock exchange filing.
The company was founded by a family from Sri Lanka’s north produces processed ethnic foods, the bulk of which is exported to countries with South Asian expat communities.
The company is part of GTV group which has logistics and a retailing. The group has been headed by Thavamalar Guganathan from 2016 when her husband who founded the firm passed away.
In May, Senthilverl Holdings increased its shareholding in Maharaja Foods. (Colombo/Aug20/2025)
