ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 301.95/302.20 to the US dollar in the spot market Monday, weaker from 301.95/302.05 Friday, while bond yields were broadly steady, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 8.78/81 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2028 was quoted at 8.96/99 percent, up from 8.90/9.00 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.06.2029 was quoted at 9.32/35 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.10.2029 was quoted at 9.41/44 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2029 was quoted at 9.44/48 percent, up from 9.42/45 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2032 was quoted at 10.25/35 percent, from 10.25/31 percent.
The Colombo Stocks Exchange opened in red: The ASPI was down 0.52 percent, or 107.28 points, at 20,541.92; the S&P SL20 was down 0.67 percent, or 41.10 points, at 6,048.74.
The telegraphic transfer rates for the American dollar was 298.5000 buying, 305.5000 selling; the British pound was 401.8137 buying, and 413.1555 selling, and the euro was 346.9455 buying, 358.1507 selling.
Rs. 82,000 million Treasury bills are to be issued through an auction on 27th August. (Colombo/Aug25/2025)
