Al Jouf Cement has approved the use of its green cement product, developed in partnership with Asas Al-Muhailb Company, in NEOM projects.
The product is a result of Al Jouf Cement’s extensive multi-development efforts in collaboration with Asas Al-Muhailb, a producer of high-quality ready-mix concrete.
The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and underscores the company’s commitment to environmental preservation and innovation.
Green cement offers a 30% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, positioning it as an environmentally friendly option.
It serves as an alternative to imported supplementary components like Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) and Fly Ash, resulting in higher quality concrete products.
The product is distinct due to its high standards compared to other cement products.
The low heat of hydration of green cement makes it suitable for large-scale concrete works.
It significantly enhances concrete performance in terms of durability, longevity, reduced water absorption, and reduced permeability.
Additionally, it is highly resistant to chloride penetration and sulphate and chloride salts found in soil.
The compressive strength of green cement is equal to or greater than that of ordinary Portland cement (OPC).
It also aids in heat insulation and is fire-resistant. Furthermore, using green cement reduces the need for ice in concrete cooling, which significantly lowers concrete costs.
Al Jouf Cement’s board of directors and executive management emphasise their responsibility in finding solutions that preserve the environment while supporting Vision 2030.
This initiative also aims to develop scientific alternatives and solutions to distinguish the company within its field.
“Green cement by Al Jouf Cement receives approval for NEOM projects ” was originally created and published by World Construction Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
