Baker Tilly in Canada, part of Baker Tilly International, has appointed Terri Holowath as chair of its board of directors.
With More than 30 years in professional services, Holowath will focus on driving growth across the Baker Tilly in the Canada network.
Her experience includes a decade as managing partner in Calgary, where she promoted leadership development.
Holowath said: “I am deeply honoured to assume the role of chair for Baker Tilly in Canada. It is an extraordinary time for our profession and Baker Tilly. With a focus on technology and digital transformation, proactive client-centric services and innovative talent and culture strategies, we are driving initiatives that align with our growth objectives and shared ambitions.”
Holowath also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing chair Scott Dupuis, particularly in appointing Ben Lloyd as Baker Tilly Canada’s first CEO.
Lloyd said: “Terri’s guidance will be instrumental as we roll out a comprehensive new strategy across the country, driving an exceptional experience for our clients and our people, while helping them navigate the complexities of an evolving world.”
Holowath’s appointment comes amid strategic expansions, including the acquisition of Serco Partners in France.
The acquisition of Serco Partners, an accounting and auditing firm in Toulouse and Labège, aims to bolster Baker Tilly’s position in the Toulouse economic region.
This move is anticipated to increase the firm’s turnover in the area to €10m ($10.4m), aligning with Baker Tilly France’s goal to increase turnover to €400m by 2030.
In December 2024, Baker Tilly appointed Chakib Zaari as regional chair for the Middle East and Africa.
Zaari will also join the firm’s international board, effective immediately.
This appointment formed part of Baker Tilly’s broader strategy to enhance its global leadership and regional influence.
In October 2024, Baker Tilly acquired Alirrium, a company specialising in robotic process automation (RPA) advisory and implementation.
This acquisition aims to strengthen Baker Tilly’s expertise in RPA, AI, and machine learning, supporting businesses in modernising operations and enhancing competitiveness.
