MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reset the resumption of the printing of ballots this weekend to Monday next week after a senatorial aspirant withdrew his candidacy even after the Supreme Court granted his petition to have his name included in the ballot.
Chairman George Erwin Garcia said on Friday that before Francis Leo Marcos filed his withdrawal, the Comelec was all set for the weekend printing and was actually set to start even earlier, at 3 p.m. this Friday, because the Comelec legal and information technology departments personnel did overtime work and were able to finish their assigned jobs relative to the printing of ballots.
