MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed a Commission on Elections (Comelec) insider to fill up one of the two vacancies in the poll body following the mandatory retirement of Commissioners Socorro Inteng and Marlon Casquejo early this month.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Monday confirmed the appointment of law department chief Maria Norina Tangaro-Casingal, a career official, as new commissioner.
