At least three people were injured Saturday after a person opened fire at a marketplace in a town in central Germany, according to local media reports.
The shooting reportedly took place at a sports betting shop at the market square in Giessen, located in the central state of Hesse.
The state public broadcaster reported that the perpetrator was on the run but there was no danger to the public.
Police cordoned off the market square following reports about the shooting, which took place around 3:10 p.m. local time (1310 GMT).
