The film follows the untold survivor stories
SANTA FE, Texas – A documentary on the untold survivor stories from the Santa Fe High School shooting that took place on May 18, 2018, is out in two Texas theaters today.
“The kids of Santa Fe, the largest unknown mass shooting” is a documentary shining a light on a Texas tragedy.
The filmmaker says it never got the attention, it deserved.
The Santa Fe High School shooting claimed the lives of eight students and two teachers. Thirteen other people were injured. It’s the third deadliest high school shooting in the history of the United States.
The film follows the stories told by those who were directly affected by the tragedy.
The director of the documentary, Charlie Minn, says people don’t truly know what happened at Santa Fe High School that day.
“They know something bad happened but they don’t know the specifics, that’s the keyword here, specific, what this documentary does, it informs, educates and raises awareness to the highest level about what truly went down in those two art rooms,” says Minn.
Minn also says if we don’t talk about these tragedies, similar evil acts of violence will continue to happen in our schools.
The film is having cinema showings tonight at 7 p.m. in both Pearland and Tomball near Houston.
Streaming options are available as well.
