VICTORIA, Texas – Today, a Victoria County jury convicted 36-year-old Joshua Lee Vasquez, of Victoria, of Aggravated Assault and Assault Family Violence With a Previous Conviction.
The charges stemmed from two separate incidents in June and July of 2021.
The jury sentenced Vasquez to 35 years for Aggravated Assault and 15 years for the Assault Family Violence With a Previous Conviction. For a total of 50 years.
Vazquez must serve at least half of the 35-year-sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Chief Felony Assistant District Attorney,Jordan Fries, and Assistant District Attorney, Zachary Miles, prosecuted the case. Neal Connors represented the defendant.
Judge Eli Garza presided over the three day trial.
