Abbey Clancy has opened up about when her hair started falling out, admitting it was “terrifying”.
The model, 35, blamed her hair loss on giving birth to three children in four years, with her pregnancy hormones taking their toll on her mane.
She shares Sophia, nine, Liberty, five, Johnny, three and Jack, 22 months with her husband, former footballer Peter Crouch, 40.
Her pregnancies also left her with skin discolouration and allergies, but she was devastated when her hair started falling out in clumps.
Abbey told OK! magazine: “I was so ill during pregnancy, and my skin was so reactive.
“It was allergic to everything, even fabrics and washing powder. I also had a lot of hair loss.
“It grows back, but when clumps of hair fall out when you’re washing it, it’s terrifying.
“I had three kids in four years, so I felt like I had no hair left by the end!
“It’s another thing that was damaging to my confidence. It’s scary for any woman going through that.”
And she said she is still suffering from skin discolouration, which began when she was pregnant with her first child, Sophia.
Abbey continued: “I’ve been struggling with pigmentation for about 10 years now – it began when I was pregnant with my first daughter, Sophia.
“It was quite damaging to my self-confidence – I felt I always had to wear make-up to cover it up – so I’m always on the lookout for products that can help combat that.”
In the interview, Abbey also joked about her fashion fails.
She added: “When you’re younger you have a lot more confidence – I used to go out wearing luminous orange fake tan and think that was fine.
“And I had Biro-thin eyebrows on my wedding day – it looked like I had drawn them on.
“I need to put my dress back on and reshoot my wedding day, this time with more acceptable eyebrows!”
