Bradworthy is a village I am very proud of. Now, I don’t say that because of the recent ‘Google street-view video that is trending on TikTok, nor do I mention it because we boast the largest village square in England. But now I have your attention, let me tell you a little bit about Brad’rdy, as the locals call it.
Where is Bradworthy?
Brad is a small village located in the deep depths of North Devon. Essentially, if you try to navigate anywhere in Devon without Google Maps toggled on then you will end up driving through a random collection of houses and a church, with a sign at the end that reads ‘worthy’.
This worthy in particular, Bradworthy, is located in North Devon, and is on the cusp of Cornwall. The village is 12 miles from a small seaside town called Bude, which is likely its nearest ‘landmark’ given Bude’s summer haul of holidaymakers.
You may have also seen a viral video of a tree falling down in Bude during the recent storm Eustice in the UK.
Failing that landmark, the nearest train station is a 35-minute drive away in Barnstaple, which is also where the nearest McDonalds is.
P.S, there is no such thing as Uber and there is no possible takeaway option for the residents of Bradworthy – Deliveroo, Nandos etc, forget it.
This is literally the middle of nowhere.
About that TikTok video by Bradworthy Inn
To clear up and confirm some facts, the video in question does not include ‘Bradworthy Inn’, which is the phrase trending on TikTok.
The local Inn is the only pub in the village, complimented only by a drinking hole 500 meters across the village square named ‘the social club’. In terms of overall shopping and dining experience in the village, there is also a post office, Balsdons (grocery store), a sofa store (no idea why), a garage, and a primary school.
TikTok’s viral video, in fact, includes a house a few hundred meters to the left of the now-famous pub.
This video has since been removed from TikTok, although it does still exist on Google Street View if you were to take a peak.
And, since the rise of the video on social media, searches for the quaint village have sky-rocket.
