UFC legend Amanda Nunes has been beaten in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport.
Brazilian Nunes, 21-4 and on a seven-year undefeated run, is arguably the greatest-ever woman in the competition’s history and was as the reigning champion of the women’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions.
But Julianna Peña pulled off a rear-naked choke to claim the bantamweight crown 3 minutes and 26 seconds into the second round in one of the greatest rounds ever seen.

Both fighters traded massive punches again and again, but it was Pena who somehow got the better of the exchanges and forced Nunes backwards.
Pena hunted the champion down and sealed a take-down, before climbing on Nunes’ back and choking the reigning champion who quickly tapped out.
“This might be the biggest upset in the history of the sport,” Joe Rogan said.
Pena declared: “I’m not surprised, mother****er! I told you. Don’t ever doubt me again!”
Now 12-4, the new champion had spent over a year calling out Nunes in an attempt to book her world title shot. In the end, she did exactly what she promised for so long – brawl standing up, then submit one of the all-time submission artists.
The ‘Venezuelan vixen’ Pena landed 90 strikes to Nunes’ 58 in the staggering win which sent the UFC world wild.
