GREAT BRITAIN’S swimmers picked up their THIRD gold of the Tokyo Games after a stunning relay win this morning.
And two of them have gone to Tom Dean, who added the freestyle relay to his individual honour earlier today on day five.
In the rowing, Great Britain secured silver in the men’s quadruple sculls but suffered devastation in the men’s coxless four, finishing in fourth place as they failed to win the event for the first time since 1996.
In the cycling today, Geraint Thomas will look to bounce back from a wretched road race to challenge for gold in the time trial.
And we will have live coverage of the Olympic men’s football with some big names set to bow out in the group stage plus the latest on Andy Murray’s quest for doubles glory.

-
A SNIFF

A sniff for the British duo to break when 30-40 down but the Croatians see it out.
Huge service game coming.
-
NERVY!
A big service game for Murray and Salisbury as they trail 4-5 in the second set.
They trail 0-15 early on before a 40-30 lead.
They do take the game and we move to 5-all in the set.
-
GREAT RECOGNISES GREAT
Swimming superstar Adam Peaty says he always knew the relay team would win a gold medal.
-
BREAK BACK!

-

It’s quickly consolidated with a love-hold too as they go 4-2 up.
A huge moment and they have one foot in the semis.

Two games all with the Brits a set up.
-
DISAPPOINTING IN THE DOUBLES
Team GB haven’t won a mixed doubles medal since 2004 in Badminton.
That run continues after Marcus Ellie and Lauren Smith’s quarter-final defeat.

GOLD MEDAL MOMENT
The Olympic champions.
-
ROWING SECOND
The men’s eight team are through to the final after qualifying in second place.
Their first heat was hugely disappointing as one of the favourites for gold, finishing third to reach this stage.
But that was better as they continue to sit behind the New Zealand team.

WHAT A TEAM
The four lads celebrating after securing the gold.

DUNCAN REACTS
The Scot says he is actually a ‘bit GUTTED’ for not landing a world record in the 4x200m relay.
He lands his first Olympic gold medal.
We’ve been able to win world and European finals in 4x200m but this one’s always gotten away.
In 2016 we won silver and that was a monster achievement at the time but that was really special with those boys.
Matt in third was so composed and the boys in front executed their race plans really well.
So close to a World Record as well, if anything I’m a bit gutted.Duncan Scott
-
YOUNG GUN
And a fabulous 200m from 18-year-old Matt Richards, who extended the GB lead to hand Duncan Scott a lead for the final leg.
When you’re racing with guys like this, having a great leg comes easy.
When they set you up as well as they did and you know you have one of the best freestylers ever to come behind you, the privilege and confidence that gives someone my age, money can’t buy it.Matt Richards
-
SOME GUY
The second leg from James Guy was pivotal in getting GB back into the race behind the USA team.
He keeps his emotions in check….just!
The way this last year has been and being a kid wanting a gold medal has been my absolute dream, to do it is quite emotional.
These lads are the best freestylers in the world, with my teammates getting first and second is amazing.
And just how things progress. Now we are the Olympic champions.James Guy
-
TOM DEAN REACTS
Two days, two Olympic golds. How is he feeling?
I can’t even put it into words. I couldn’t yesterday and I don’t think I can today.
I can’t thank these boys enough, from the bottom of my heart. Unreal.
I have trained with this guy (a crying James Guy) every single day and you can see how much this means to us.Tom Dean
-
THEIR REACTION
Fresh off securing the gold, the four lads have to try and put this achievement into words.
And if you heard Tom Dean yesterday, you’ll know he will be speechless.
-
HISTORY MAKERS
The first time Team GB have won three swimming golds in 113 years.
Running out of words for this swimming team.
-
ABSOLUTE SCENES
Almost the cherry on the cake with a World Record but they miss out by THREE 1/100ths of a second.
Not sure they particulary care right now though!
-
TEAM GB GOLD! ?
GREAT BRITAIN WIN THE 200m FREESTYLE RELAY!!

-
MEN’S 200m FREESTYLE
Oh that last 50m from Richards is superb!
He hands over a 1.4s lead to Duncan Scott over the Russians!!
200m to go!
-
MEN’S 200m FREESTYLE
What a fabulous leg from James Guy, a second behind to 0.13s ahead!
Excellent stuff, now rookie Matt Richards with a gap to America, Russia and Australia.
