Antonio Brown’s agent is getting roasted online for invoking the wide receiver’s children — as well as his own kids — in defending him against rape allegations.
“He is a loving father of five children, including a daughter,” Drew Rosenhaus said Wednesday on ESPN. ” I myself am a father. I have two children, two daughters, that I love very much, along with my wife. I wouldn’t be doing this interview if I didn’t believe Antonio.”
Rosenhaus appeared on the network a day after his client was accused in a civil suit of raping his trainer, Britney Taylor, last year, as well as other crude behavior. He said Brown, 31, who just inked a one-year, $15 million deal with the New England Patriots, denies the allegations and will cooperate with the league’s investigation.
Those on Twitter were quick to pounce on Rosenhaus’ daughter defense.
“If you’re a man intending to use the ‘father of daughters’ excuse to defend defending another man, save it,” wrote Charlotte Wilder. “Congrats on having kids, it says absolutely nothing about your moral character.”
Another person tweeted, “Should read: ‘I myself am a father, and I have two daughters. I wouldn’t think twice about using them to defend my business interest of rape allegations.’”
Haley O’Shaughnessy weighed in, “having a daughter doesn’t qualify you to say anything on this subject except ‘i’m so f–king sorry for how clueless i am’ to your daughter.”
Rosenhaus didn’t immediately return a message.
