Are the Netflix stars dating in real life?
Yes, the on-screen couple is dating off-screen too.
While this might be news to some fans, many Outer Banks stans already know that Sarah and John from the show are dating in real life since 2020. The couple even quarantined together with co-stars Drew Starkey and Rudy Pankow.
Now one year later, the pair is still together and features in each other’s Instagram posts.
In April of this year, Madelyn (Sarah) 23, posted a series of photos on her Instagram to celebrate her one-year anniversary with co-star Chase (John B). She tagged him in the pictures and the caption read, “Thanks for helping me keep track of my belongings for a whole year (: adore u.”
More recently on June 7, Chase posted a series of pictures featuring Madelyn and him all dressed up for an outing in New York City.

John B and Sarah Cameron’s role in Season 2 explored
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD
For most of Outer Banks season 2, we see that John B and Sarah are going strong. The couple has to endure a lot as they face everything from minor disagreements and life-or-death situations while on the run. We see their love for each other but it goes only so far.
Despite their best efforts to stay under the radar, John ends up getting arrested for killing Sheriff Peterkin, a crime he did not commit. Sarah’s father Ward runs out of luck this season and fakes his death to evade arrest for the crime he committed.
In the thick of the drama, John and Sarah break up and explore dating other people, but that doesn’t seem to be going too well.
We also see Sarah technically dying in Episode 3 whilst being operated on. But, thank god, for John who successfully resuscitates her and she springs back to life.
Everything we know about Outer Banks season 3
Netflix is yet to renew the show and the renewal will heavily depend on Outer Banks season 2’s success. However, given that the second season ends on a cliff-hanger, we can guess that a third season is most likely on the cards.
Season 2 was renewed in July 2020, but it premiered a year later due to the COVID-related delays. Hence, if we guess as per season 2’s timeline, Outer Banks season 3 will most likely arrive in the summer of 2022. However, this is all assuming that Netflix renews the show.
If season 3 does arrive, we will likely see Ward return, as he isn’t really dead. Both Sarah and John will have to confront the return of their fathers as the plot thickens.
