Arsenal could receive up to £11million from the sale of Shkodran Mustafi, according to reports. Arsenal are trying to trim their squad and make room for potential new signings. Following the £20m departure of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez last week, Mustafi could be the next player through the Emirates exit door.
Mustafi has received strong criticism from Arsenal supporters in recent seasons.
He was close to leaving the club last summer but stayed and enjoyed something of a renaissance following Mikel Arteta’s appointment in December.
But a serious hamstring injury suffered in July ended his season and he is still to return to full first-team training.
And despite his upturn in form, it appears the Germany international is now surplus to requirements to Arteta.

“I thought it was a game where we were going to attack the spaces and the way they defended, we wanted to create some situations with Dani there but if we can strengthen the team then we’re going to try and do that.
“Until the market is gone, everything is still open.
“Depending on what happens with some other players… as I say again, we are open to discussions, the market can surprise us.”
