An Asda shopper has explained their disappointment after cracking open a doner meat and chips frozen microwave meal.
They shared their upset online and it quickly went viral.
Posting a snap of the meal on Reddit, only a few slices of meat, a handful of chips and a sachet of chilli sauce were shown.
The foodie wrote: “Doner meat and chips microwave meal from Asda is possibly the worst thing I’ve ever eaten.”
The shopper claimed that they bought the Heat Me, Eat Me Doner Meat & Chips frozen microwave meal for just £1 due to “curiosity”.
And, hundreds of people commented as they were stunned by the tiny portion, reports the Mirror.
“It scares me that this was approved by someone to sell for human consumption,” noted one.
Another added: “That is quite literally the saddest f***ing thing I have seen in my 28 years on this earth.”
However, not everyone blamed the supermarket.
One posted noted: “Why would you even buy that in the first place?
“Even if it looked promising, donor meat and chips is the easiest thing to get in any direction.”
Plus… it was only £1.
And, over on the Asda website the cheap frozen meal has actually been given some glowing reviews.
One fan gave it five stars and said: “For £1, you can’t really fault this. It tastes like any microwave doner meat and chips you may have had before.
“Think frozen doner kebab and that’s the meat you get.
“Think microwave chips and that’s the chips you get. Sauce is really nice.”

“You get what you pay for, if you want a big portion of better quality doner meat and chips, go to a takeaway and pay more but this is perfectly fine for the price.”
Another gave the dish four stars and said: “The chilli sauce was really jammy and spicy. The kebab meat was as if is was cut from your local kebab shop and dropped straight on your plate. Delightful.”
However, some likened the meal to “dog food”.
In response to the bad review, an Asda spokesperson told the Star: “This product is a part of our affordable and convenient range of microwaveable snacks and has received positive reviews from customers on our website.
“Choice is important to our customers and we offer a wide range of products so that everyone can be sure to find products they love at Asda.”
