HEAD-TO-HEAD
Aston Villa and Liverpool first faced off way back in 1894 when Queen Victoria was still on the throne, former Soviet Union leader Nikita Khrushchev was born and US college basketball was formed.
Since then, the two teams have locked horns a total of 195 times with the Reds counting 96 victories compared to Villa’s 59.
This will mark their ninth ever FA Cup clash; last time they met each other in the competition was in 2015 when Aston Villa eliminated the Merseysiders with a score of 2-1 thanks to goals by Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph, which cancelled out Philippe Coutinho’s opener.
Liverpool have won six of the exchange, which never included a draw between them.
