As the New Year approaches, many people are searching online to see what Baba Vanga predicted for 2022 and what the year ahead has in store for us.
But who is Baba Vanga? You may ask. Baba Vanga was a blind clairvoyant who many people claim predicted world events during her life. She left a list of predictions for hundreds of years in the future, but let’s take a look at what she’s gotten right so far…
Who was Baba Vanga?
Baba Vanga was a blind mystic who left predictions for every year up until 5079. She was born Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova and grew up in the Bulgarian village of Strumica.
When Baba Vanga was 12 years-old, a storm hit and flung her into the air, causing her to get lost in the chaos and lose her eye sight. She was found a few days later.
Baba Vanga claimed that she had her first vision in the days she was missing, and later stated that her ability to see had been replaced with a clairvoyant ability to see the future.
She died in 1996 at the age of 85.
Five predictions Baba Vanga got right
In 1989 Baba Vanga said: “American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds… and innocent blood will be gushing.”
Many have perceived this as a prediction of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York in 2001 when two planes were crashed into the Twin Towers.
In 1980, Baba Vanga said that the Russian city of Kursk would be “covered with water and the whole world will weep over it,” in August 1999. In August 2000 a Kursk submarine sank and 118 military personnel died.
Baba Vanga’s prediction for 2017 was that Europe would “cease to exist.” Although this did not turn out to come true, many people have read this as foreshadowing Brexit.
In 1979 during a meeting with writer Valentin Sidorov, Baba Vanga said: “All will thaw, as if ice, only one remain untouched- Vladimir’s glory, glory of Russia.” Some suggest this was a prediction of Vladimir Putin’s win of the 2018 election.
In 2008 Barack Obama was elected president, something which Baba Vanga may have also predicted. She said that the 44th US president would be black. However, she also said he would be the country’s last president, which obviously did not come true.
