JD Harmeyer had no choice but to get his head shaved after losing a bet and it appears like his bald look has impressed many, nevertheless.
The latest segment of the Howard Stern show has created a lot of buzz, thanks to JD’s new haircut and the factor that led to him getting rid of all the hair on his head.
If you are just as stunned as other listeners on seeing a bald JD all of sudden, let us take you through the rather hilarious process of the radio host getting his head shaved, step by step.
JD Harmeyer goes bald over a lost bet
As per the Howard Stern show’s blog, JD went bald on air after losing an N.F.L. playoff bet to Richard Christy.
The media producer apparently got his head shaved in an event deemed Road to the Super Bald. Before being seated in the barber’s chair, bidding farewell to his hair, JD joked: “The buzz around the office has not been like this in quite a while.”
However, it’s hard to tell how Howard felt about his fellow host losing his hair as a result of losing a bet because he seemed to have doubts about it. Howard was heard saying: “I feel like I’m about to watch an execution.”
But, Richard opined one needn’t have to feel bad about JD while citing another incident in which the former was subjected to a disgusting punishment.
Even the hairstylist Ralph Cirella seconded Richard saying: “I don’t feel bad for him at all. It grows back, it’s not like he has to cut off an arm.”
Radio host jokes about his shaved head
As we mentioned earlier, JD got his head shaved in stages. First, Ralph gave him a mohawk and joked that it looked like the host was getting brain surgery before adding: “This guy’s not buzzing his head, he’s shaving it down to the skin.”
But, the style was short-lived and the rest of JD’s head was also shaved completely. After going bald, JD remarked he could feel the air, but it felt “weird.”
Richard, who had an opposing opinion added: “I think it makes JD look way younger. He looks really good … he should be thanking me.”, which was further supported by Howard who called bald JD “handsome.”
It seems like the host has come to terms with his new hairdo as he proudly shared his “new look” on Twitter without the slightest hesitation.
Fans offer styling tips
Within a few hours of sharing, pictures of JD’s shaved head have been seen by at least 223,000 people on Twitter.
And, many have taken it upon themselves to offer him some styling tips to enhance his new look further.
One fan suggested: “The cut fits you. Just edge up the beard”
“These look tremendous. You look open, instead of hiding behind all that hair. The beard stands on its own now you don’t have to stay bald, keep it short, regularly. So if you’re going through some stuff, just get out from behind that hair, and you’ll figure it out. Signed, a fan,’ added another.
One tweet read: “I really liked the Mohawk! But the bald looks great as well. Maybe go with a long on top, short on the sides thing when it grows back.”
A third fan wrote: “Not a bad look at all. Almost a disappointingly good look lol”
