Ernesto Valverde’s side beat Slavia Prague 2-1 away from home last Wednesday before El Clasico – due to be played on Saturday – was postponed due to political unrest.
The Catalan club have therefore had a significant rest compared to their rivals, who beat Eibar 2-0 at the weekend.
However, Valverde is still likely to be without the injured duo of Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto due to knee injuries.
The Frenchman’s absence means Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann are likely to start in support of Luis Suarez once more.
Valverde also has the options of Ansu Fati, Carles Alena and Carles Perez, although the latter pair appear to be out of favour at the moment.
Sergio Busquets was withdrawn early during the win over Slavia Prague, sparking concerns that the veteran Spaniard is suffering with a knock.
Arturo Vidal is a ready-made replacement at the base of midfield while Arthur and Frenkie de Jong have established themselves as first-choice picks under Valverde.
However, the visit of Valladolid offers Ivan Rakitic another chance to prove his worth after the Croatian – who has been frozen out this season – put in a spritely cameo last week in the Czech Republic.
Jordi Alba is expected to get the nod over Junior Firpo at left-back while Nelson Semedo is the only natural option on the other side of defence due to Roberto’s injury.
Clement Lenglet is expected to continue alongside Gerard Pique with Umtiti unlikely to be risked, although Jean-Clair Todibo and Ronald Araujo are further options.
