Radio station 103.1FM announced the death of Trinidad and Tobago singer and DJ Anil “The Vocalist” Bheem on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the age of 48 – his mother Prematee, wife Cheryl and daughters Neelun and Prithivi survive him.
“With heavy hearts,” the station’s post read, reports Trinidad and Tobago’s Newsday, “we relay the news that our beloved Anil Bheem passed away this morning.
“This is beyond shocking and we are still trying to process,” it continued. “His 103.1FM family extends deepest sympathy to his dear wife Cheryl, daughters, family, friends, colleagues in the industry and legions of fans.”

What age was Anil Bheem when he died, and has a cause of death been revealed?
At time of death, Anil Bheem’s age was 48. That’s according to news reports from Trinidad and Tobago’s Loop News and Newsday outlets.
While his cause of death is not currently publicly available information, the latter adds that he performed at two events on Friday night.
These were at the Rig Restaurant and Lounge, in La Romaine, and at the Heartland Plaza, Chaguanas. He was the leader and vocalist for The BMRZ Empire.
In other words, it appears to have happened suddenly, since he was performing just hours before he died.

What do we know about Anil Bheem’s family, wife and daughters?
His mother’s name is Prematee Bheem. The day after her son died, she changed her Facebook profile picture to a photograph of the two of them together.
It has since picked up more than 500 comments and nearly 800 reactions from friends and supporters offering their condolences.
Anil’s wife, Cheryl Bheem, used to work with him at 103.1FM Trinidad & Tobago; she studied at the Institute of Tertiary Tutors and lives in Valsayn, not far from Port of Spain.
They have two daughters, whose names are Neelun and Prithivi.

Tributes follow news of radio presenter and vocalist’s death
Senator Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal paid tribute to Anil Bheem via Facebook shortly after his death, thanking him for his contribution to local culture and offering her condolences to his wife Cheryl and family more broadly.
“You were a young trail blazer,” she wrote. “As a fan ever since I was a teenager, I say thanks Mr Bheem.”
And Surujrattan Rambachan, who reportedly knew Anil “since his birth” and “saw his development as a person and as an artist over the last 40 years,” described Bheem as a “most respectful person.”
“May God bless his soul and bring comfort to his wife, children and family,” he wrote. “But especially his mother, Prematee Bheem.”
