This announcement was expected earlier in January but was postponed due to the devastating wildfires in California. On January 14, Beyoncé was set to reveal details about the tour but decided to delay the surprise out of respect for those affected by the fires. “The Jan. 14 announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” she said in a message shared with her followers. She continued, “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
As part of her commitment to helping those impacted by the fires, Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation pledged $2.5 million in support of families in Altadena and Pasadena, as well as churches and community centres. BeyGOOD was established in 2013 to assist in crisis response and long-term recovery efforts.
