Beyoncé joined many famous faces from across the globe in wishing Meghan Markle a happy 40th birthday on Wednesday
Meghan Markle releases 40×40 birthday message on Archewell
Beyoncé has shared a throwback snap of Meghan Markle as she wished the Duchess a happy 40th birthday.
Queen B has made no secret of her admiration for the former Suits star in the past and posted a special birthday message to her on her personal website.
The singer, 39, shared a childhood photo of Meghan to mark the occasion. The photo shares the actress-turned-Duchess wearing a blue dress accessorised with a headband which featured a flower.
Beyoncé kept the well wishes short and sweet as she wrote: “Happy Birthday Meghan Markle.”
The image was the first thing users would see if they went to the homepage of Beyoncé’s site.
Meghan also shares a birthday with Barack Obama and Bey sent a similar shout-out to the former president earlier in the day.
During her Brit Awards acceptance speech in 2019, Beyoncé, along with husband JAY-Z, paid tribute to Meghan.

As they accepted the prize for Best International Group via video message, they recreated the music video for their tune APES.
But, instead of posing in front of the iconic Mona Lisa, the pair stood in front of a regal portrait of the Duchess of Sussex.
And when Meghan and Beyoncé met at the July 2019 London premiere of The Lion King remake, the Crazy in Love singer was seen leaning in for a hug on the red carpet and reportedly said “My princess”.
Meghan’s birthday well wishes didn’t stop with the singer though.
Many famous faces across the globe took time out of their day to send her a special message.
And despite the public fallout from Meghan and Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, members of the Royal Family still sent personal messages.
The Queen used the official royal family Instagram account to share a message, which read: “Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday today!”
She also shared three photos of Meghan, including one of the two women together during their visit to Chester in 2018.
And Prince William and Kate Middleton also sent well-wishes.
They shared a photo from Meghan’s royal tour of Australia with the message: “Wishing a happy 40th birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!”
Despite the seemingly positive messages, many people jumped on social media to criticise Meghan’s own birthday video.
Some accused the Duchess of taking a swipe at the family in her birthday message as she made a “service” remark.
Meghan wrote: “The time that you donate can contribute to a global wave of service and set in motion meaningful impact in our own communities, and across the world.” Global wave of service is capped up and written in bold writing.”
And people were quick to pick up on the use of the word ‘service’ because of the comments previously made by Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes after Meghan and Harry quit the royal family.
