Boxing is as much showbiz as brutal sport, and Newcastle’s Darkon ‘Dynamite’ Dryden offered plenty of the former in a big win over Jason Medawar on the Tim Tszyu-Dennis Hogan undercard.
27-year-old Dryden entered to AC/DC’s Highway to Hell, while wearing a mask imitating Hannibal Lecter of The Silence of the Lambs– a flashy entrance which went to another level as he screamed across the ring at his opponent before the fight began.
The local hope Dryden struggled in the opening round, but the super welterweight stopped his opponent with a couple of heavy overhand rights in the second round.

With Medawar up against the ropes after some brutal body shots, Dryden’s heavy right hands landed twice before referee Dean Cambridge stepped in and put a stop to things.
“Stay in the gym, kids,” Dryden said to the camera after his fourth victory in his undefeated career.
Dryden wasn’t the only one with plenty of character, with his trainer showing off an exceptional mullet hairstyle.
And Dryden was equally entertaining ahead of the fight – earlier this week telling Sportingnews: “I’m built like a tank and punch like a Mack Truck. He’s going to sleep inside three.”
That prediction came true.
