In his first ever fight, an American boxer has brutalised his opponent by quite literally knocking him out of the ring.
Jay Rome posted a video of his crazy fight to social media, where it went viral for the absolute carnage it captures.

Rome captioned the clip, “So I had my first boxing match yesterday…”
In the snippet filmed, the debutant punishes his opponent with his terrifying right hand, leading him to the corner of the ring where he lands a knockout blow.
The referee, whose unusual hat caught the attention of social media punters, pushes Rome away from his rival, who crashes out of the ropes and hits the deck.
Onlookers are left audibly stunned by the KO, while multiple people can be seen rushing to the aid of the losing fighter.
Rome then takes a knee, possibly out of respect for his fallen foe.
The insane KO has sent social media into a frenzy.
“In all honesty, he was just overmatched,” wrote one Facebook user.
“Raw talent and power. He didn’t even have his off hand up to protect (not that he needed it in this case),” declared another.
Another pundit simply commented: “RIP”.
Elsewhere, a punter claiming to know Rome shed light on his athletic prowess.
“Jay is a friend of mine and trained some at a martial arts gym I worked at in Athens not too long ago. Helluva good guy but he may be an ever better fighter,” he wrote on sports forum, 247sports.
“I’ve seen him execute a round house kick with ease and let’s just say it’s unfair for a dude his size to be that limber and athletic.
“Wouldn’t be surprised if he had a MMA career at some point.”
