Tim Tszyu has issued a chilling warning to opponent Dennis Hogan after the Irishman suggested Australia’s best boxer was overrated.
The war of words between the pair went up a notch as Hogan fronted the media on St Patrick’s Day on Tuesday ahead of their March 31 bout in Newcastle.
Hogan blatantly declared Tszyu was “not as good as me” and blasted betting markets that have Tszyu a $1.14 favourite as “mind-blowing”.
“I’ve got more skills, I’ve got more everything and I fully believe I’m the better boxer,” Hogan said.
“That’s why this fight excites me so much. I’ve never wanted a fight as much as this my whole life.
“I believe it’s my time and you will all see why.”

Hogan claimed recent wins for Tszyu (17-0) over Jeff Horn and Bowyn Morgan weren’t as impressive as they seemed.
“Even Jeff at his best, he was a welterweight,” Hogan said.
“The guy (Bowyn Morgan) he knocked over in the first round was a welterweight.
“Two of the best from his most recent wins are people that are genuinely at a lower weight category.
“They’re talking about him and all his power but he didn’t put a scratch on Jeff regardless of how the fight went down.
“That won’t be me, I’m fully confident in my own abilities. I know I will get the win, something inside me has opened up.
“… I’m all in for this, this is my whole life and I will be taking this seriously. I won’t be doing silly things.
“I’m going to make him look average, completely average.”
Tszyu offered a brutal, blunt response to 36-year-old Hogan (28-3-1) in a video posted to social media on Tuesday.
“Dennis, I’ve heard what you said about me,” Tszyu said.
“Let me be very clear with you, I’m going to end you. This is your last fight.”
