Mr Kawczynski, who was until recently a member of the Eurosceptic European Research Group, was nevertheless one of 116 MPs to be sent a letter by Mr Corbyn appealing for them to help him block a no-deal outcome. Mr Corbyn’s letter was also sent to former Prime Minister Theresa May and former Chancellor Philip Hammond.
However, Mr Kawczynski, MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham, gave him short shrift.
He told Express.co.uk: “Mr Corbyn is blatantly disregarding the prevailing sentiment of British electorate.
“He will fail in this attempted coup and he will be punished by British electorate at next General Election which we anticipate.
“Shows how inept he and his team are there is more chance of me flying to the moon than backing him in his attempt to derail Brexit.”
Earlier Mr Corbyn met with the leaders of other parties in Westminster, including Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson, with them striking an agreement to prioritise a legislative approach rather than an effort to oust Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.
Mr Corbyn has confirmed he will not immediately push ahead with a move to replace Mr Johnson through a vote of no confidence.

After the cross-party talks, Mr Corbyn said: “We are putting first the legislative proposal next week and that’s what the agreement was reached this morning to do, that’s what we are doing.
“The motion of no confidence will be put, by me, at an appropriate time but obviously not the first item next Tuesday because I believe it’s important that we get on with a legislative process which prevents the Prime Minister acting in defiance of the will of Parliament – which was demonstrated by an enormous majority saying that ‘we do not believe this country should crash out without a deal’.
“The Prime Minister needs to respect Parliament and understand the role of Parliament is to question and challenge the executive.
“I will propose the parliamentary process which would mean the legislation can be laid.”
“The legislation will be laid by people from all of the opposition parties and will be supported by some Conservative MPs as well.
Pressed as to whether he believed Mrs May and Mr Hammond would work with him on efforts to block no deal, Mr Corbyn added: “They will get the letter just like everyone else and I hope that they will reflect that they voted against no-deal, as indeed I did, as indeed many, many other colleagues did from all parties, because crashing out without a deal I think would be very bad for our economy and be quite disastrous for many industries and jobs in this country.”
Mr Johnson himself tweeted this morning: “We are going to leave the EU on October 31st and make this country the best in the world to live in.”
The PM has vowed to take Britain out of the EU by October 31 “do or die” – even it means leaving without a withdrawal agreement in place.
