A bride-to-be was left sobbing after being told her wedding was being “moved” so that the venue could host a dance competition on her original date.
Charlotte Meigh and her fiancé Adam Simpson had decided to get married at the North Stafford Hotel in Stoke on April 30, 2022.
Their first booking had to be moved because of the Covid-19 pandemic – and they’ve had to shell out £400 to move their honeymoon.
The bride, 27, from Kidsgrove, told StokeonTrentLive that she had paid a £500 deposit towards her big day and booked the photographer and venue dressers.

But, she was then told she could no longer be married on that date as it was no longer available.
Charlotte claims that staff told her the venue was booked for a dance competition despite her paying to reserve it for her wedding.
She said: “I cried when the hotel phoned me about the date.
“They have let me down because they told me that was my date and everything is booked.”
Charlotte continued: “I’ve got a wedding dress, a photographer, venue dressers, a wedding car and honeymoon – but nowhere to get married.
“All my suppliers have lost loads of money this year. If I have to cancel my wedding they have lost my money as well. “
The couple now want their deposit returned, but also worry about having to move the wedding again as Charlotte’s stepfather is losing his sight.
