Brits have been left in stitches over a tweet shared by US brand Pop Tarts.
The tweet was first shared back in 2019, however it is resurfaced recently, with fans left giggling all over again.
Pop Tarts are a brand of toaster pastries which have a have a sweet filling sealed inside two layers of thin, rectangular pastry crust.
And according to the brand, the best place you can keep the is in your ‘fanny’.
The original tweet read: “I like my tarts where I like my money. Right in my fanny.”
The comment was shared next to a photo of some Pop Tarts in a fanny pack, or a ‘bumbag’ as we would say in the UK.
And although innocent in the US, the word fanny obviously has a very different meaning here over in the UK.
The original tweet of course went viral, racking up more than 15,000 retweets and 41,000 likes.
However, it has recently been shared again on Reddit, as someone wrote: “Incredible how different this reads when you’re from the UK.”
The new Reddit post has also racked up 23,000 upvotes, as people couldn’t help but snigger.
One exclaimed: “I like pop tarts to but that is a weird place to put them.”
While another joked that the fanny was clearly “Nature’s pocket”.
Even some Americans admitted that they phrase sounded odd to them too.
One wrote: “I live in north America and I can’t think of anywhere this sentence sounds normal.”
While another admitted: “It sounds weird to us too.”
