It’s Brownlow night, 2021 style

Good evening footy friends, and welcome to the Brownlow Medal count of 2021. And we’ve got another weird one on our hands!
As has been the case with all of footy/all of sport/all of everything for the last couple of years, COVID has forced us into another very different looking Brownlow count. The main event is in Perth (just as it will be on Saturday), but only a handful of clubs will be able to send players to that one. There will be events in the respective states that are allowed to host them, while players in Victoria and NSW will be Zooming on in to the meeting just like any of us.
It’s going to be strange, but at the end of it we will have a new Brownlow Medallist. We’re expecting a particularly tight and interesting count too, so you can’t rule out the possibility of multiple winners. Once it all gets going, it promises to be a very intriguing night.
So let’s see what happens together then, eh? We’ll have all the build up, whatever that looks like, and then all the 3s, 2s and 1s that matter when the count begins at about 7:30pm AEST.
