Burger King has released the UK’s first ever vegan nuggets – and they sound delicious.
The fast food giant has introduced the plant-based alternative in light of Veganuary this month.
It comes as Burger King launched its Plant-Based Whopper back in January 2020 and the Vegan Royale in April 2021.
The food is made with soy and plant proteins as it’s been developed by The Vegetarian Butcher and certified by the Vegan Society.
And if you’re reluctant about trying the new nuggets, according to CambridgeshireLive there isn’t much difference.
Reporter Amy Jones tried the delicious new product and gave her verdict.
She said: “Heading to our local Burger King you can’t help but notice the big ad on the menu boards for its new vegan products.
“As the screens change the brand new vegan nuggets appear, I’m surprised to see they look exactly like usual chicken nuggets.
“Purchasing a box of six to try was £4.29, you do get the choice of the vegan sweet chilli sauce or ketchup for dipping.
“Opting for the sweet chilli sauce it was time to examine the new product that was before us.”
She revealed how the nuggets looked exactly like the meat version as they’re “crispy on the outside with same shape and size”.
And when she gave it a try, her tastebuds were met with a pleasant surprise.
Amy admitted: “From someone who is not a vegan, it was pleasantly delicious for the taste encountered.
“Not only did the vegan nugget look the same on the inside but the flavour was incredibly similar to any other nugget.”

She added: “The only noticeable difference was the slightly rubbery texture.
“That said I’m not a regular nugget-eater so this could be common in their meat counterpart too.
“All in all, if you’re looking for something new to try or you’re participating in Veganuary I would recommend trying these nuggets.
“They taste incredibly similar to usual nuggets and are a great alternative to meat.”
