Byron Baes star Sarah St James has finally lifted the lid on her romance with Nathan Favro, after viewers were left wondering if the pair were still a couple following the cliff-hanger finale.
The controversial Netflix show ended with the Gold Coast singer, whose real name is Sarah Tangye, moving home from Byron after discovering Nathan once had a fleeting romance with her rival Elle Watson.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Sarah said the duo ‘aren’t putting labels’ on their relationship, but are still very much in contact since the show aired.

‘Not labelling it’: Byron Baes star Sarah St James has finally lifted the lid on her romance with Nathan Favro, after viewers were left wondering if the pair were still a couple following the cliff-hanger finale
‘Everybody’s asking!’ she laughed. ‘We’re not labelling anything – obviously you can see on our Instagram [pages] that we have not lost touch.
‘We never really lost contact after we finished filming and after I moved back, and we’re just trying to navigate through this.
‘Obviously it’s a bit of an overwhelming situation with the show, so we’re just keeping everything pretty chill and private.’

While Byron Baes was met with criticism both before and after it aired, many fans have called for a second season – and Sarah says if given the chance to return, she would take it.
‘I don’t know what’s happening, but I would absolutely love to,’ she said. ‘But at the moment, I am based on the Gold Coast.’
On the show, Sarah had arrived in Byron Bay on order to boost her music career.

She added during the interview that she hopes to go on tour in the near future, but faced tragedy in recent weeks when her music studio became engulfed with water amid New South Wales and Queensland’s devastating floods.
‘I would love to,’ she said, when asked about a tour.
‘At the moment I’m still in the studio getting tracks out – we had a little bit of a halt because of the flooding around here recently, and my studio was flooded.
‘We’ll hopefully be back up and running in the next couple of weeks, and that’s the plan.’
When asked what a tour of hers would entail, she added: ‘It’s a bit of everything – I’m a jack of all trades when it comes to music.
‘I love pop, and a big part of my influence is classical piano, 70s rock music, R&B. If I have the budget, it will just be this wild, pop extravaganza.’

It comes as viewers branded the controversial Netflix series ‘awful yet addictive’ following its debut earlier this month.
The reality show follows the lives of 14 influencers who help each other grow their businesses, connections and social followings in the idyllic Australian beach town of Byron Bay.
The vast majority of Twitter critics described Byron Baes as ‘cringeworthy’ and ‘brain-numbing’, yet many admitted they simply couldn’t switch it off.
‘Byron Baes is horrific. But I will watch the entire thing,’ one fan tweeted.
‘Help! I started watching Byron Baes and can’t stop,’ another mused.
Others had more positive feedback, with one user Tweeting: ‘We need season two! #ByronBaes’.
Byron Baes is currently available to stream worldwide on Netflix.

Season two? ‘I don’t know what’s happening, but I would absolutely love to,’ she said. ‘But at the moment, I am based in the Gold Coast’
