A CADBURY fan has fumed at the chocolate giant after it confirmed it has no plans to reverse a recipe change on one of their classic treats.
The much-loved chocolate maker replied to a customer on X (formerly Twitter) after they questioned the new taste of their ‘Time Out’ delicacy.
The Leeds based chap posted a pic of a half-eaten bar and tagged Cadbury before asking them a question.
In the post, he wrote: “Is there any chances of bringing back the original time out bar?
“These new ones are just not the same, and depressing.”
Cadbury replied to his query and shared the news on why it wont be changing the recipe back.
They said: “People’s tastes change from time to time, so it’s important that we have a wide range of products to cater for everyone.”
But he wasn’t overly impressed with the response since he felt that the taste of the new bars were not up-to-scratch.
He clapped back with: “But the original obviously tasted better.”
The Time Out bar hit shelves over 30 years ago – in 1992 – and in the past two single wafers sat inside the wrapper.
But a drastic change took place after the snack firm said it wasn’t very popular with customers, reports the Birmingham Mail.
They then released a new, single wafer low-calorie version in it’s place, called the Time Out Wafer – which is just 111 calories – after experimenting with the recipe.
And so the original Time Out bar disappeared from shelves, disappointing legacy fans of the snack.
Cadbury hits headlines constantly – whether it’s the release of a new treat or a re-launch of a previous product – customers are continually surprised by new choc-drops that appear in shops.
Just recently, Cadbury brought back their ‘Caramilk’ bar – but in a very different shape.
And, Brits were jumping for joy when they noticed brand new chocolate orange Mini Eggs have landed earlier this year.
On top of all that, fans can look forward to a new release of white chocolate creme egg Easter eggs – just in time for Easter 2024.
