Former Ironwoman Candice Warner has claimed that former AFL player Barry Hall threw a drink on her at a Sydney venue on their first meeting over a decade ago.
Warner, now a radio pundit with Triple M, says she had never spoken with Hall before the bizarre incident, which she claimed came ‘out of nowhere’ and ‘definitely wasn’t an accident’.
Warner told Triple M’s Dead Set Legends program: “Well, it would have been maybe 15 years ago, could be more or less. At the Coogee Bay (Hotel) one night, and all of a sudden I had a drink thrown on me – by Barry Hall.

“I’m telling you it came out of nowhere. He didn’t throw the glass, but he threw it. He seemed to think it was an accident, but it definitely wasn’t.
“After that some of his teammates got him out here and took him elsewhere. But that was my encounter with big bad Barry.”
Asked if it was a childish attempt at flirting, she replied: “I don’t think he was trying to get my attention. I wasn’t with their group or anything like that at the time. Maybe it just happened to go on me. I wasn’t happy about it, that’s for sure.”
Warner’s comments came days after Hall was knocked out by Sonny Bill Williams in the first round of their highly-anticipated fight that proved an utter mismatch.
After narrowly avoiding a KO thanks to a big Williams right hand inside the first 30 seconds of the fight, Hall hit the canvas again after just 90 seconds.
And when Williams dropped Hall a third time at the two-minute mark, it was all over.
“I thought it would go the other way early and Barry was going to impose his will, but Sonny’s speed and size was too good,” triple boxing world champion Danny Green said in commentary.
