NineSigma, representing a global chemical manufacturer (“Client”), seeks technology related to dye for optical filters that absorb near-infrared light (i.e., does not transmit near-infrared light) and transmits visible light only.
A range of proposals is welcome including a concept proposal if the technology has the potential to achieve the following technological requirements in principle, even without the proven record of application to optical filters.
The Client is engaged in developing a dye that absorbs and does not transmit near-infrared light. The material must also transmit visible light. The challenge is to achieve both near-infrared light absorption and visible light transmission, but the Client has not yet identified a technology that can meet the above-mentioned requirements at this point.
Meanwhile, the research and development of dyes have been conducted widely, and promising technologies that can help resolve the challenge seem to be available worldwide. Therefore, the Client decided to make this RFP to call for technologies and ideas that can help overcome the technical challenge and establish a practical application.
Submissions to this Challenge must be received by Apr 7, 2021.
