As a leading manufacturer of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, PMI has a key role to play in guarding against youth use and access to our products, and this is a role we take seriously. Therefore, we have worked consistently over the years to develop and embed in our organization global responsible marketing standards. Nonetheless, we recognize we can always do more.
While the recent availability of innovative smoke-free products offers a significant opportunity to move adult smokers away from cigarettes, efforts to commercialize these products should include steps to minimize the risk of use by underage individuals.
For this reason, PMI is looking for innovative technologies that can prevent youth to have access to and use PMI products.
