A child has been struck by a car after getting off a bus in Darwin’s rural area.
Police said emergency services were called to the scene on Bees Creek Road at about 3pm where the child, whose age is unknown, was hit while crossing the road after getting off a bus.
Police said the child suffered serious head injuries.
The ABC understands the child was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the car and the bus both stopped, and are now assisting police with their investigation.
Major Crash detectives are currently on the scene.
