A GIN and beer festival which took place on the grounds of an estate near Chirk at the weekend has been hailed a success by its organisers.
Manic Events’ Gin & Beer Festival took place at Brynkinalt Hall on Saturday, and welcomed local traders and entertainers for guests to enjoy throughout the day.
Matt Lee and Nicola Barkley, directors of Manic Events, were pleased to see people enjoying a good time while staying safe at the event.
“It was really, really good – some would say a perfect day,” Matt said.
“I think people enjoyed the normality of it the most. We had a few comments from people who said they nearly didn’t come because they were a bit nervous with regards to Covid.
“But those people told us they felt really safe when they did get there and they were glad to be doing something normal again.”
Money was raised for Hope House Children’s Hospice through the sale of Hope House Gin, produced by Shropshire Distillery.
Matt thanked everyone who attended and all who were involved with the running of the event to make it such a successful day.
He said: “We’re so pleased for everyone who bought tickets and attended, and to everybody who took part in anyway.
“The traders and acts were amazing. They were all so happy to be out and about again.
“A lot of our traders actually started their businesses during the pandemic, so this was their first proper event.
“I think they appreciated the support they received here – they were all brilliant.
“All of the acts were fantastic as well and were delighted to be back on stage performing again.”
