The lychee martini is my aunt’s favourite drink, and is always served at our family gatherings. Whenever I drink one, I get a gentle wave of fond nostalgia for get-togethers and celebrations back home in India. The added touch of rose water is inspired by the Delhi Gymkhana Club, another place we meet up in to raise a glass. We like this one so much, we’ve added it as a pre-mix to our home-delivery offering.
Rose and lychee martini
Serves 1
50ml vodka – Ketel One or Grey Goose
15ml lychee liqueur – Joseph Cartron or Kwai Feh
15ml fresh lime juice
75ml lychee juice – we use Rubicon
4 drops rose syrup – Monin, ideally
1 edible rose petal, to garnish (optional)
Pour all the liquids into a shaker, add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass or coupe, and serve garnished with a rose petal.
